Portfolio 4.3 Release Notes
New Features
Export all Input Data in Excel Format
Export of input data into Excel is now supported. This will allow users to download the latest version of their data whether it was imported from Excel, Enersight, Planning Space, or a Portfolio data source, providing quick access to the data for easy editing, or to use in other portfolios or share with the Support team.
- Export opportunity inputs from the Opportunities page.
- Export Master Data inputs from the Master Data page.
- Export all of the above from the Data Versions page (provided there is at least one data version created).
Export Model as a p4 expressions File
From the Model page in Portfolio, use the 3-dot menu at top right to export the expressions. This will generate the p4 expressions sheet (new format compatible with Portfolio versions 4+).
Create, Delete, and Edit Metrics Directly in Portfolio
Metrics can now be edited, deleted, and created, directly from the Model/Metrics page in Portfolio.
Metrics may be renamed from the Model page, which will automatically adjust any widget legends, or single-metric widgets that inherit the metric and unit label. Metric properties such as Level, Scale By, Type, Unit label, and Format may be edited directly in Portfolio, allowing for quick changes without having to import a new Expressions sheet. When Expressions sheet editing is required, the user can export the Expressions to ensure they are working with the latest in Excel.
Metrics may be deleted from the model, provided they are not needed by any computed metrics (callers). When deleting a metric, the user will be shown any references prior to confirming deletion.
Simple metric creation allows the user to quickly add new Input, Master Data, or Computed metrics. Importing input data, master data, and Expressions from Excel remains an easy way to generate new metrics automatically, but this new capability may be preferred in some cases such as:
- Generating a new input data sheet in the correct format, which can be exported and populated in Excel.
- Setting up a new Expressions sheet that can be exported for further editing in Excel. Computed metric expressions still need to be written in Excel.
Export Blank Input Templates from Model Page
The user can now export simple input templates from the Model page. This can be used to set up a new Portfolio and get started quickly.
Enhancements
- Opportunity names will now persist once they are added to Selection Comparison Heatmaps.
- In dashboard widgets, the axis (tick) font size is now customizable from within the Appearance dialog (upper right cog on a widget).
- When exporting selections to Planning Space Economics, the user can now customize the name of the cloned hierarchy. The new name must be unique to be accepted.
Fixed Defects
- Fixed a number of minor bugs that affected how opportunities grids behaved when a filter was applied and changes were made to the data.
- Fixed a bug where some editing was allowed to Outcome Dependencies, even if the data version was locked.
- Changed the quarterly data export labels to start at the beginning of each quarter, consistent with the data and labeling in the application even if the data starts mid-quarter.
